Description
Developmental Pathways has a fantastic opportunity for a Speech and Language Pathologist in our Early Intervention department to provide early intervention services for children 3 years old and under. You will get to team up with other therapeutic disciplines, service coordinators and caregivers to develop and implement functional goals and strategies to enhance a child’s development. This position also provides clinical supervision to clinical fellow year (CFY) staff by overseeing interventions implemented by CFY staff and Speech Pathologist 1.
 
This position will be based out of our Inverness office in the Denver Metro area, just south of the Denver Tech Center in Englewood, CO. We’re committed to a great work-life balance here, so our offices are open Monday - Thursday and are closed on Fridays! This is a full-time 36-hour/week position.

More about what you’ll get to do as our Speech and Language Pathologist
  • Partner with service coordinators, Child Find teams and other community partners who serve young children to deliver early intervention services
  • Oversee the individual plan (IFSP) intervention implemented by CFY staff by facilitating weekly team meetings where therapeutic interventions are discussed and modified
  • Develop and implement IFSPs to meet individualized functional goals and help families determine priorities for service
  • Perform standardized or play-based motor assessments, and complete written reports
  • Attends and participates in child and family meetings and consultative visits
  • Respond promptly and professionally to individual and family needs and requests
  • Determine assignment of children based on skill levels of therapists
  • Ensure adherence to Division for Intellectual Developmental Disabilities (DIDD) rules and regulations and agency policies and procedures in provision of services
  • Assure paperwork submitted by other service providers, individuals and other agencies is completed, distributed and filed

Qualifications
 Must have’s to be our Early Intervention Speech and Language Pathologist!
  • Master’s degree preferred; requires certification/ licensure as a Speech Therapist in Colorado
  • Two (2) years experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or a combination of education and training
  • Working knowledge of the developmental disability system, rules and regulations
  • Experience or training in Primary Service Provider Model
  • Knowledge of rules and regulations for the Division of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment 
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.) and be able to use these and other required (UNICORN, etc.) programs 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; effectively and professionally communicate with individuals in services, families, staff and others
  • Demonstrate skill in administering state required assessments (AEPS) of child’s progress toward IFSP goals. 
  • Personal vehicle in good operating condition for use during work as appropriate
  • Valid Colorado motor vehicle license and provide proof of motor vehicle insurance
  • Ability to meet and maintain agency driving requirements - no suspensions/revocations in the past 3 years and no more than 3 moving violations/tickets in the past 3 years
